When the local Honda/Harley shop went to just Harleys in about
1990, I was able to get another 1975 GL1000 for $75. A guard dog
had eaten half of the seat, and a large cloud of dust came from the gas
tank when I opened it. It was cosmetically nicer than Dejah T2, but
I had a good running bike v.s. who knew what. Dad and I took far
more than $1000 worth of parts off that bike. I got Lester Mag Wheels
that used to go for $900 a pair, as well as a good Vetter Windjammer II
fairing! In the end I sold the frame with engine and wheels for $50.
I think I got a good deal.
I have not found a photo of the bike, which sat in my driveway to
close to four years as I recall. I must have one somewhere.
In the mean time, you can go see Dejah T2, the
identical red color, model and year. In fact, most of the red parts
you see on Dejah T2 are from this bike!
