Montana Map, Day 1
On 21 Aug 97 I left home in Great Falls, MT, headed for Kalispell, MT, and parts west and north.  I bucked a head wind, and my 1975 Honda Gold Wing got almost 30 miles per gallon!!!  I had to refuel in Valier, MT, only an hour and a few minutes from my starting point.
But the sun was out, the wind eased as I neared the mountains, and tooling down the west side of Marias Pass along the southern edge of Glacier National Park was as glorious as ever.
I met up with my Dad and step-mom Sarah at a restaurant in West Glacier.
They were having dinner with the local chapter of the Gold Wing Touring Association, and a good Montana buffet it was!

Then off to Kalispell for a good night's sleep.
