We actually got the best mileage of the
trip going over these two passes. I made 54 mpg! I think it
is because we just took our time and idled up the hill. |

Yup. Really! From here we coasted down the old railroad grade (still tracks to Creede; I guess the government won't let them abandon them, but there are trees growing between the rails...) to South Fork, over Wolf Creek Pass to downtown Pagosa Springs! Then it was on to Chama, NM. |
