Pulling up to the water tower. |
A good stiff drink of water, and she is ready to go! |
Then is is back to the train cars for all
the
folks to ride in! From here we had a pleasant ride on the GoldWings down to Taos, NM, a bit south of here. It started getting hot, so by the time we were in Albequerque it was well over 100F. Dad and I decide to spend a little quality time in an air conditioned mall. We hit the road again in the early evening after it had dipped below 100F again, and made great time on the freeway. We stayed in a motel in Gallup for the night. |
This is Meteor Crater in Arizona,
between Winslow and Flagstaff, AZ, off of I40. A chunk of rock
the size of a VW Beetle did this! The white spot in the center of
the middle photo is about the size of a basketball court. |
Apollo astronauts trained here for moon
walking. There is an Apollo command module (trainer) on the left
of the visitor center. This is a great place to learn about
meteors and the Moon! |
